Good idea, you might consider editing/updating that first post once in a while, as people submit info on coins that aren't on it yet. http://www.usagold.com/gold-coins.html is a good place to look up/pull that info - they have pics of many coins along with the total gold content listed.

Although these are gold coins and of European decent they will always command less premium than gold coins with a stated metal content. The very reason you are having trouble remembering how much gold they contain will be the very same reason a buyer will shy away from buying them from you.

It's good info to have if you see something you think is a deal it's always good to know the AGW.

Re: AGW in coins

This may not be very helpful, but I picked up a pamphlet at a coin show that tells the weight in gold of many foreign currencies and has a chart that tells you their value in gold as spot price rises in $10 increments.

It would be quite handy to anyone buying foreign currencies, as they would not have to grab the calculator.

The web address on it is www.numismaticnews.net, provided by Numismatic News. I did a quick search of the website and could not find a way to download the pamphlet. However, if one is seriously interested in obtaining a pamphlet, I would call them and ask for one. Maybe even tell them that you will distribute the pamphlets at the next coin show you attend.
